Rube Goldberg Machines in 1st Grade

First graders have been working hard to learn about force and motion and apply their new knowledge! We've explore forces such as push and pull, simple machines like a pulley, lever, and wheels and chain reactions! In the past couple of weeks, students met Rube Goldberg and his kooky inventions. Finally, students used all that knowledge to create their own chain reaction machines.

While some groups weren't able to make their machines work exactly right, others put together some pretty cool chain reaction machines. Overall, students learned the importance of testing hypotheses and trying new ideas. Check out their hard work by visiting this link.
