Learning to Find Relationships in Analogies
Second graders are working to prepare for the Cognitive Abilities Test later this year. One part of this test has students looking at picture analogies. Students must determine the relationship of the first two pictures and select the correct answer to go with the third picture.
To prepare students for this task, we learned what an analogy is. After learning we played games to practice completing analogies. Students completed analogies by matching a set of pictures to two other pictures.
Then, we learned about different kinds of analogies.
