Choreography with Convergent and Divergent Thinking
Kindergarten has been learning about position and movement words. Students watched a video and then generated their own list of position & movement words.
They practiced using movement words by playing Simon Says and taking "driving lessons." Students used toy cards to drive fast and slow on different roads: straight, curved, spiral and zig zag.
Last week, students have been applied their understanding of positions and movements by watching different dance videos. Afterwards, students discussed the different positions they say the dancers in and how they saw the dancers move in the video,
Finally, students created their own dance. Each students chose a position and/or movement word that they turned into a dance move. Check out the choreography and dance videos below!

Sayiona - Spin in a spiral
Genesis - Twist to the left and right
Eduardo - Walk straight forward and backward
