Learning about Wind in Kindergarten
Kindergarten is learning about weather and the seasons in science. This week, during enrichment, we discussed wind. Students talked about what wind was, how we use our senses to observe wind and words to describe wind.
We read a book titled Wind and learned vocabulary such as breeze, gale, direction and speed.
Then, we made wind sticks, using popsicle sticks and streamers, to help us observe the weather. We took our wind sticks outside and tested them out. We observed the wind was more of a periodic breeze and determined the direction the wind was blowing.
